Translation Requirements for Its Notarial Certification

Translation Requirements for Its Notarial Certification

Notarial certification of translation is a confirmation of the authenticity of the signature of translator who translated this document, as well as his qualifications and ability.

The main requirements for documents, the translation of which must be certified by a notary, are approved by the order of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine No. 296/5 dated 22.02.2012. Thus, notaries do not carry out notarial acts in respect of documents that do not meet the requirements of the legislation or they contain information humiliating honor and professional reputation of an individual. Before certifying the document, the notary must read the contents of this document.

Notaries also can not carry out notarial acts with documents that contain corrected words or certain other corrections. However, if the correction data is stamped by the authority or the person who issued the document, marked "Alteration valid", a notarial certification is possible.

It is also important to remember that a notary does not accept damaged documents and documents on two or more separate sheets unless they are connected in a way that does not allow them to be unbundled without breaking the integrity (except if these are two sheets of different documents - then they can be verified as two separate documents).

There is another very important point: the notary will not be able to verify the translation, if the documents are not certified by the signature of the official and the seal of the legal entity (if any) that issued the document.

If there is any doubt about the possibility of notarial certification of a document, you can always apply to the translation studio "Madagascar", where you will quickly evaluate the possibility of performing the translation and its subsequent certification.
